After domestic smartphone manufacturers collectively released their flagship models, Huawei finally made its grand entrance!

On the afternoon of November 26, Huawei updated its product lines including smartphones, tablets, headphones, and automobiles, unveiling several new products in one breath.

At the event, in addition to the unveiling of the "million-dollar luxury car" Zunjie S800, which boasts the slogan "Flagship of the Era," Huawei smartphones remained the absolute main course of the conference.

Equipped with Pure HarmonyOS, Huawei Mate 70 has broken through limitations from both software operating systems to core hardware.

'Always imitated, never surpassed. The only thing that can surpass Mate is Mate itself.' Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Terminal BG, boasted at the scene.

At the end of this year, Huawei has injected a shot in the arm into the smartphone market once again.

After the official launch, Yidu Pro consulted multiple Huawei offline stores through Meituan and found that offline stores were still out of stock.

01 Huawei Mate 70 Takes Center Stage, No Price Increase

The long-awaited Huawei Mate 70 has finally made its official debut!

Let's start with the price. The Huawei Mate 70 series starts at 5499 yuan. Specifically, the Mate 70 versions are priced at 5499 yuan for 12GB+256GB, 5999 yuan for 12GB+512GB, and 6999 yuan for 12GB+1TB.

Compared to domestic competitors, amid the wave of domestic flagship phone launches since October, new smartphone prices have generally increased by 300-500 yuan, with starting prices crossing the 600 USD (approximately 4200 yuan) threshold for high-end smartphones.

However, Huawei smartphones have maintained the same pricing as the previous generation, and even the Mate 70 Pro+ version is 500 yuan cheaper than its predecessor. Nonetheless, as one of the earliest domestic players to firmly establish a high-end positioning, Huawei smartphones remain the most expensive among domestic manufacturers.

When consumers purchase smartphones, in addition to price, they also care about appearance, camera quality, and battery life.

In terms of appearance, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro+, Mate 70 Pro, and Mate 70 each come in four color options. The Mate 70 Pro+ introduces the concept of Oriental Brocade Colors, offering four color choices: Golden Silk and Silver Brocade, Flying Heaven Blue, Feather Dress White, and Ink Elegance Black. The Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro come in four colors: Fir Green, Snowfield White, Hyacinth Purple, and Obsidian Black.

In terms of camera quality, the Huawei Mate 70 series introduces the Red Maple True Color Imaging system for the first time, emphasizing color reproduction and accuracy, with a 120% improvement in color reproduction accuracy. Specifically, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro and Pro+ both feature a quad-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 48MP macro telephoto lens, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a Red Maple True Color camera.

In terms of battery life, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro and Pro+ versions are equipped with a large 5700mAh battery, supporting 100W wired super-fast charging and 80W wireless super-fast charging, providing a 24% improvement in battery endurance compared to the previous generation.

Furthermore, the Huawei Mate 70 series also boasts enhanced screen hardness and abrasion resistance. According to Yu Chengdong, the Mate 70 features second-generation Kunlun Glass, improving drop resistance by 20 times. It also uses a high-brightness titanium basalt body, increasing wear resistance by five times, and the rear shell is made of ultra-durable fiber, enhancing impact resistance by five times.

Before the event, Yu Chengdong demonstrated the AI AirDrop feature. At the event, the Huawei Mate 70 series introduced nine AI features for the first time, with the other eight being: AI Motion Trajectory, AI Main Character Moments, AI Time-Space Travel, AI Smart Control Button, AI Call Summary, AI Message Carry, AI Noise Reduction Call, and AI Silent Call.

Huawei, which has always been "far ahead" in communication capabilities, also introduced the satellite paging feature for the first time, supporting "constant online connectivity via a single satellite connection."

Following the previous claim of being the "most powerful Mate ever," Yu Chengdong used multiple "mosts" to describe the Mate 70 at the event: "the most exquisite and reliable Mate ever, the most powerful Mate ever, the most outstanding Mate ever, and the smartest Mate ever."

02 Equipped with Pure HarmonyOS, Huawei Mate 70 Drops a Bombshell

Besides the innovations in camera quality and appearance, what's most exciting about the Mate 70 is its significance as a domestic smartphone.

Yu Chengdong introduced that, thanks to the native HarmonyOS operating system and new hardware configuration, the overall performance of the Huawei Mate 70 series has been improved by 40%.

This smartphone is equipped with Huawei's self-developed HarmonyOS NEXT intelligent terminal operating system, also known as "Pure HarmonyOS." This operating system achieves autonomy and controllability, marking an important milestone in the development of China's operating systems.

At the event, Yu Chengdong stated that in two to three months, the native HarmonyOS application experience is expected to be more mature and refined, providing users with a smoother, safer, and more intelligent native HarmonyOS experience. With the launch of the Mate 70 series and Mate X6 series, Huawei offers both HarmonyOS 4.3 and native HarmonyOS 5.0 options. Next year, all Huawei smartphones and tablets will be equipped with the native HarmonyOS system.

Huawei has been forced to embark on the path of independent research and development in recent years. Through years of effort, Huawei has successfully launched its self-developed HarmonyOS operating system and chips, achieving comprehensive independent research and development from hardware to operating systems.

Achieving full-stack independent research and development from the inside out, the launch of the Huawei Mate 70 not only enhances Huawei's competitiveness but also promotes the entire industry to a higher level.

03 "First On-Sale via Food Delivery Apps," No More Scalpers?

Before the event, there were rumors that the Huawei Mate 70 would be "first sold via food delivery apps," with over 4,500 Huawei stores simultaneously launching the Mate 70 series, foldable Mate X6, and other new Huawei products. Users can place orders through Meituan and receive the new products from nearby stores within 30 minutes at the fastest.

Upon hearing this news, many people's first reaction was, "Is Huawei going all in on sales?" Does this mean that the space for scalpers to speculate on Huawei smartphones is shrinking?

In recent years, after the launch of new Huawei phones, they have often been "hard to come by" due to factors such as insufficient production capacity, leading to a surge in scalpers in the secondary market.

On the day of the launch of Huawei's tri-fold smartphone this year, prices on the secondary market soared to over a hundred thousand yuan. The starting price of the Huawei Mate 60 was over five thousand yuan, but it once fetched a premium of over ten thousand yuan on the secondary market, and even a week after its release, the premium could still reach two to three thousand yuan.

Just before the Mate 70's launch, with pre-orders exceeding 3 million units, many scalpers were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to make a small profit.

With news of the "first on-sale via food delivery apps" for the Mate 70 and the later-than-expected launch of the Mate 70 series, outsiders assumed that Huawei had prepared relatively adequate production capacity for the Mate 70.

However, after the official launch at 18:08 on November 26, Yidu Pro tried to place an order on Meituan and found that nearby stores were basically out of stock. Even with offline reservations, there was no guarantee of when the phones would be available, making the Mate 70 still hard to come by.

The shortage of new products is difficult to change, and scalpers may become active again.
