Super Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai on November 22, 2024, with a registered capital of up to 42.5 million yuan, and the company is represented by legal representative Yin Zhiyao.
Yin Zhiyao, born in 1944, has a grandfather who was a Boxer Indemnity scholarship student. He has educational backgrounds from the University of Science and Technology of China, the Department of Chemistry at Peking University, and the Department of Physics at the University of California, USA. He has worked at well-known companies such as Intel's Central Technology Development Department, Lam Research, and Applied Materials.
In 2004, Yin Zhiyao, at the age of 60, led 15 seasoned Chinese-American engineers and technicians from Silicon Valley to return to China and founded Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. (AMEC) in Shanghai.
Under the strong patent blockade of the United States, AMEC first successfully developed CCP etching equipment, TSV/MEMS/Dicing etching equipment, and other products, and quickly broke through to the 45nm process node, breaking the US blockade on China's etching equipment in one fell swoop. Since then, it has continued to make breakthroughs and innovations, developing inductive plasma etching equipment in 2012; in 2010, AMEC began developing the most critical equipment for LED device processing - MOCVD equipment. Currently, AMEC has become a world-leading and domestically prominent manufacturer of gallium nitride-based LED equipment.
