The Huawei Pura 70 series has undergone a significant price drop, and early buyers feel cheated!

So far, the 618 event this year has entered the second half. Although the overall enthusiasm of the event is somewhat weaker compared to previous years, the price reductions of most products have become increasingly significant, especially in the mobile phone industry. Some models even change prices daily, with price reductions starting at 20%, and some older models even experiencing price reductions of up to 50%. Under this overall trend, even Huawei phones cannot escape the norm, and multiple models have also undergone price reductions, not just symbolic hundreds of yuan, but up to over a thousand yuan.

If the price reduction of older models is understandable, the fact that new models like the Pura 70 series have also experienced over a thousand yuan price reduction is still unexpected for many people. Why is that? Last year, several months after the Mate 60 series went on sale, third-party channels not only did not reduce prices but even increased prices by over a thousand yuan, and the demand exceeded supply. Therefore, many people felt that even if the price of the Pura 70 series was not as stable as the Mate 60 series, it would not drop too much in price in the following months after its launch. However, the actual situation has left early buyers feeling cheated.

Currently, in the PDD hundred billion subsidy, the Pura 70 series has all undergone significant price reductions. The Pura 70 12GB+512GB version has dropped to 5476 yuan, 523 yuan less than the original price. The Pura 70 Pro+ 12GB+512GB version has dropped to 7296 yuan, 703 yuan less than the original price. The Pura 70 Ultra 16GB+512GB version has dropped to 8996 yuan, 1003 yuan less than the original price. Only the Pro version in the entire series has not undergone a significant price reduction, which may be confusing for some people. Why is the Pro version not reduced?

I personally believe that nothing happens without a reason. The fact that only the Pro version in the entire series has a price reduction of only 3 yuan may be a strategy to reduce the price of the Pro+ to a level similar to the Pro version, which will increase the sales of the Pro+ version to a certain extent. Of course, it is also possible that the supply of the Pro version is low but it is the most popular in the entire series, so the price is the most stable. This situation is very similar to the Mate 60 series (where the price reduction of the Pro version is less than 200 yuan so far). The difference is that the supply of the Pura 70 series is very sufficient, which is in sharp contrast to the severe shortage of the Mate 60.

In fact, the price reduction of the Pura 70 series started at the end of May, but the reduction was not as significant as it is now. Some people may say that this price is still expensive. To be honest, we cannot use cost-effectiveness to measure whether a high-end flagship phone is worth buying. It's like saying that the price of the Apple iPhone 15 series is still expensive even after a price reduction of over 2000 yuan. The price of high-end flagships is not solely reflected in hardware and R&D costs, but also includes brand value. Of course, both are complementary, and Huawei's brand value is also closely related to its R&D investment, which far exceeds that of its competitors.

To be honest, such price reductions by third parties should be effective, as the current Pro+ version is only about 300 yuan more expensive than the Pro version but offers additional features such as nano-weaving technology, Kunlun glass with basalt reinforcement, Tiantong satellite calls, and 16GB of RAM (while the Pro version has second-generation Kunlun glass, Beidou satellite messaging, and 12GB of RAM). Compared to this, the Pro+ version is clearly a more worthwhile purchase.

As for the weakness of the chip that some netizens have been discussing, this is an issue that cannot be resolved in a short period of time. If you choose a Huawei phone, you must accept this point.
